My passion for wanting to offer this training came from my many years of experience as a student and my ongoing training. I have travelled the world to study with some of the most inspiring and knowledgeable teachers. I have been extremely fortunate to come away with a solid understanding of Yoga and its therapeutic benefits, not just from the Asana but the evidence based research that our yoga industry has fought hard to present.
There are many myths surrounding Yoga and in our current world a huge emphasis is applied to the physical aspects of Yoga.
Within this training my aim is to blend my extensive knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology and apply this to the understanding of how the physical aspect of Yoga can benefit us. In addition, the history and philosophy of Yoga and how relevant these areas are in our modern world and how important they can be in allowing us to lead a more fulfilling life where we manage day to day stresses effectively using tools that Yoga can provide.
I also want to spend time sharing new ways of using tools that are relatively new but evidence has proven to work well in conjunction with Yoga such as Myofascial Release and Chinese Medicine.
With the revised standards of 200hr teacher trainings with Yoga Alliance I have been extremely fortunate to write my own syllabus. This has allowed me to focus heavily on the human body and areas of Yoga I feel are important in order to be able to teach.
My goal is to ‘over train’ my students so they can go out into the world with a solid foundation in Yoga that will allow them to teach safely and effectively. And should they wish to further their studies which is strongly recommended they will have confidence in their existing knowledge to do this.
This course has over 200hrs of contact time and students will be required to partake in additional research and work throughout the course. You will have on-going support and will be mentored by me throughout and after completion.
